Last Sunday we at AKOA took a part in the 48-hour competition Hack The Crisis. To quote Hack for Sweden:
“The new COVID-19 virus is testing our country, our society and us as citizens. Everything normal about our daily lives has been put on hold. Life, health, and jobs are threatened. In this critical moment, our task is to work together as a nation to solve one of the biggest crises of our lifetime. Hack the Crisis is an online hackathon organized by DIGG (Agency for the digital government), Hack for Sweden, Openhack and The Swedish Government.”This really touched us, and we really believe in the strength of unity and coming together in times of hardship.
The main challenges in this competition were to Save Lifes, Save Communities and Save Businesses. Together at AKOA, we worked as a team and after a short time of planning and developing, we ended up with an idea of connecting businesses, government agencies, hospitals, etc. in need with companies with short-term laid-off personnel. We wrote a report on the subject, developed a web page that could through RPA interact with other government systems and business software and we sent it in.
There were a lot of people who participated in this competition and a lot of absolutely fantastic contributions and we are first and foremost not looking to win, but we can help, we want to help and we are ready!
